Once the initial user interface design and most common design patterns had been identified, it took Glue 1-month to create the initial Figma design system file.

Harnessing our expertise in scalable Design Systems, we embarked on a transformative journey with Hastings Direct, the UK's leading agile, data-driven insurance provider. Embracing the challenge of consistency across a variety of product types and touchpoints, we meticulously crafted a design system in Figma, ultimately translating it into Storybook.js. This robust structure, encompassing foundations, components, and templates, not only fortified the uniformity but also amplified efficiencies in their delivery efforts.

In just a month, we identified and implemented the most common design patterns into the initial Figma design system. This strategic approach led to efficiency across delivery teams, a testament to the value of our solution early on. Moreover, this innovative design system, underpinned by a solid governance framework, empowers Hastings Direct to invest time in what truly matters - the customer.

Our collaboration with Hastings Direct exemplifies our commitment to creating high-impact, scalable design systems. As we passed the baton to the internal Hastings Direct design team, we have enabled them to continually optimise and evolve the system, building further efficiencies.
